On October 5, 2025, a large bushfire erupted at Eagers Creek on Moreton Island, Queensland, Australia.The fire was caused by a campfire ignited during a total fire ban and quickly spread over 640 hectares of forest and shrubland.Several roads on the island were closed, and around 20 tourists were evacuated.Fire authorities deployed 32 crews and five aerial units to combat the blaze. 

Authorities urged residents and visitors to strictly follow fire bans to prevent similar incidents.Investigations into the cause are ongoing, and legal action may be taken against those responsible.The fire highlights the severe risks of human activity during dry seasons and emphasizes the importance of fire safety in tourist areas.
