On November 8, 2025, a devastating fire broke out around 9 a.m. local time at a perfume depot in Dilovası district of Kocaeli Province, north-western Turkey.Several explosions were reported before the flames engulfed the building and destroyed two storeys. 

Six people were confirmed dead and at least one injured as firefighters quickly responded and extinguished the fire in under one hour.The cause remains unknown and authorities have launched a full investigation into possible safety violations.

 Turkey’s President expressed condolences to the families of the victims and urged businesses to review fire safety protocols.Local officials stressed that the industrial area’s dense warehousing creates heightened risk for large-scale fires.
