According to Korea JoongAng Daily reports, a fire at a seafood storage facility in Wando County, South Jeolla, South Korea, on April 12, 2026, left two firemen dead.

The fire was reported at around 8:25 a.m. at a frozen storage facility.

The flames intensified during firefighting operations, and two firemen became trapped inside.

One fireman was found at the scene.

The second was later recovered after search operations.

One company employee was taken to hospital after smoke inhalation.

Authorities mobilized rescue teams and are working to prevent further accidents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
